Things You'll Need:
- A Plan
- Dish Soap
- Kitchen chair
-
Step 1
The first and most important step in being more efficient in your kitchen is to create a plan and work by it.
-
Step 2
You should always keep your kitchen uncluttered. You can get tired just looking at stacks of stuff that may not even belong in the kitchen.
-
Step 3
Learn to work sitting down. If there is no pull out table, manage some foot room under the sink or at least at a base of a cabinet.
-
Step 4
If you have to lift heavy objects (why?), do it by bending your knees and keeping your back straight. Carry loads on your hips or shoulder, not out front where they may strain your back.
-
Step 5
Use a tray or a teacart when ever possible to make one trip in place of five or six trips instead.
-
Step 6
You should assembly ingredients for a recipe on a tray before beginning the dish. Put the packages back on the shelf as you can use them.
-
Step 7
Get other members of the family to help. Even an eight year old can be responsible for regular chores. Some of those chores could be taking out the trash, emptying the wastebasket, setting the table, and helping with the dishes.
-
Step 8
After each family meal let every child carry out his own plate and silver then scrape, rinse, and stack their dished on the right of the sink.
-
Step 9
Anylize the jobs you do to see if there isn't a better a way or short cut, example: why grate coconut by hand if you hand an electric blender?
-
Step 10
As for the biscuits which are always a mess, well here is a much cleaner way to make them. pat your biscuit dough right out on your baking sheet using a knife cut them into squares. No extra washings and no extra messes to clean up.
-
Step 11
The next time you should have to peel potatoes or carrots do it over a newspaper then when you're done you can simply roll it up and toss it, it will save that extra time digging it out of the sink unless you one of the lucky ones to have a garbage disposal!
