My family calls this recipe: Orange Jell-O Junk, but I have re-named it to Orange Jell-O Salad. Every Christmas the families on my mother side would get together. Many different members would call the house to make sure Mom was going to bring her Orange Jell-O Salad. Not only is the Orange Jell-O Salad taste great but it is a healthy recipe as well.

The Orange Jell-O Salad is a great addition for Halloween parties. There is nothing better than eating some Orange Jell-O Salad from our of a skull bowl.
Plus a person I know ate this salad every day for breakfast and lunch, and then ate a sensible dinner with their family. They lost 150 pounds!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 Large bowls of frozen whipped cream
  • 2 can of cubed pineapples
  • 2 can of mandarin oranges
  • 2 Large boxes of Kraft Orange Jell-O (Get the name brand for this one)
  • 1 Large Container of Cottage Cheese (Large size one. Not the Largest family size one)
  1. Step 1

Set the frozen whipped cream in the refrigerator so it will soften up. This can be done the day before or at least four hours ahead of time. If you skip this step, the Orange Jell-O Salad recipe will be very hard to mix up.

However, the frozen whipped cream would strengthen your arms.

  2. Step 2

Drain the two cans of Pineapples, and the two cans of Mandarin Oranges. Cut the can half way open. Then turn the cans upside down, with one finger hold the lid on. When all cans are drained open them all up.

  3. Step 3

In a very Large Mixing Bowl, mix the two cans of Pineapple, the two cans Mandarin Oranges, the two bowls of soften Whipped Cream, the two large boxes of Kraft Orange Jell-O, and the one Large container of Cottage Cheese.

If the whipped cream is a bit tough, just put in the entire Orange Jell-O mixture back in the refrigerator. It will soften up over time, about an hour or two.

  4. Step 4

Keep the Orange Jell-O Salad refrigerated. Stir before serving. Serve in bowls and eat with spoon.

Orange Jell-O Salad can be saved as long as it is covered in the refrigerator for about two weeks. Stir each time before serving.

Tips & Warnings
  • I don’t even like Cottage Cheese! But you can’t taste it in this recipe. Mom didn’t even tell me there was cottage cheese in it until I was an adult.
  • Can loose weight by eating this for lunch.
  • Serving this at a party. Set the bowl of Orange Jell-O Salad on top of an even larger bowl full of ice.
  • Stir before serving.
  • Must be kept cold.
  • I’ve tried to cut this recipe in half to make a small batch. The Junk just doesn’t come out right.
