Deep Fry a Turkey Cajun Style

Frying a Turkey is great to the taste. Try it this holiday season. It's so tender, flavorful, and juicy you will be very surprised. Once you taste this you won't go back to roasting or baking.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 10-14 lb Turkey
  • 16oz Jar Cajun Injector
  • 5 Gal Peanut Oil
  • Large Propane Deep Fryer
  • Cooking Thermometer
  1. Step 1

Purchase a 12lb Turkey (We use Honey Suckle brand, you can use any brand just make sure it's not buttery because it can bubble over while cooking) from your favorite Grocery Store and Your Cajun Seasoning with Injector. We usually purchase this at the local Wal-Mart Stores.

  2. Step 2

Let your turkey thaw 6 hours on the cabinet and then about put in the refrigerator before retiring for the night. Once turkey is thawed, unwrap and clean your turkey with Luke warm water.

  3. Step 3

Once Turkey is thawed get your Cajun Spice Injector kit and Take the Injector and fill it with the Liquid Spice. Inject the Turkey on all sides in every crack and crevice. Don't overdue it, but inject enough so it will have plenty of flavor. This will usually take the whole jar.

  4. Step 4

Start preparing your deep fryer by adding peanut oil or if you are allergic to peanut oil you can add whatever oil fits you best. Add only to the half-way mark on the deep fryer. Let your cooker preheat to the correct temperature.

  5. Step 5

Your turkey should cook at about 3 minutes per pound at about 350 degrees. Don't over-heat the cooking oil because you could cause a fire or the bird to burn. Don't undercook or your fried turkey will not be done as it should. The cooking process should take approximately 36-40 minutes.

Tips & Warnings
  • Put cardboard under burner to protect concrete in case of overflow
  • Make sure you put your deep fryer outside when frying your turkey.
  • Always use Thick Safety gloves when handling Turkey in and out of the oil.
  • Never let your kids play near or around the fryer.
