Baby shampoo isn't just for babies. Baby shampoo is an extremely gentle soap that can be used for other than just your baby's hair. Designed not to be gentle on skin and eyes, the liquid soap is equally gentle on other items. Give the soap a try on washable woolens, some household and personal care items -- as well as on yourself -- for a a gentle cleaning.

    • Baby shampoo
    • Baking soda
    • Clean rags
    • Towel
    • Sponge
    • Cotton balls

        Add 1 tablespoon of baby shampoo to the delicate cycle of your washer to gently launder cashmere sweaters. Hand wash lingerie with the same amount in a bucket of water. Remove from the machine when the cycle is complete. Roll the sweater in a towel and squeeze out excess water. Reshape the sweater and lay it flat to dry.

        Combine 1 teaspoon of baby shampoo with a pinch of baking soda in a bowl. Dip a sponge into the bowl and rub away any soap scum ring on a fiberglass bathtub.

        Fill a bathroom sink with warm water and a tablespoon of baby shampoo. Put hairbrushes and hair curlers into the sink to soak overnight. Makeup brushes can also be cleaned in the mixture. The gentle detergent loosens any trapped hair and dirt and your new hair brushes can be like new again.

        Apply a small amount of baby shampoo to a dampened cotton ball or pad and gently rub it across your eyelid to use as an eye makeup remover. Most women reach for the baby oil to remove eye makeup, but if you are like most who have sensitive eyes, use baby shampoo instead.

        Fill your soap dispenser with 1 part baby shampoo and 2 parts water. The gentleness of baby shampoo makes it great for use as a hand wash, as so many of use are now more conscious of passing along germs. Just swirl and you are ready to wash those hands.
