Spaghetti Pie is a delicious, easy to make pasta dish for your family to enjoy. If your having company you can easily double the recipe and make two. This pie serves 6.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 6 ounces spaghetti
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 1/3 cup grated parmesan
  • cheese
  • 2 eggs, well beaten
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped green pepper
  • 1-8 ounce can chipped tomatoes
  • 1-6 ounce can tomatoe paste
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon oregano, crushed
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  1. Step 1

    To make this easy and delicious Spaghetti Pie recipe start by cooking the spaghetti according to package directions; drain the water off when the spaghetti is cooked. Stir in 2 tablespoons butter or margarine into the hot spaghetti. Stir in 1/3 cup parmesan cheese and two well-beaten eggs. The spaghetti mixture will form the crust. Form the spaghetti into a buttered 10-inch pie plate.

    While the spaghetti is cooking chop up onion and green pepper. In a skillet cook the 1 pound of ground beef, 1/2 cup chopped onion, and 1/4 cup green pepper till vegetables are tender and the meat is browned. Drain off the excess fat. Stir in 1-8 ounce can chopped up tomatoes, 1-6 ounce can tomatoes paste, 1 teaspoon sugar, 1 teaspoon oregano(crushed),and 1 teaspoon garlic salt.

    Spread 1 cup of cottage cheese over the top of the spaghetti crust. Fill the pie with the tomato mixture. Bake uncovered in the oven at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Sprinkle 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese on the top; and bake 5 minutes longer or until the cheese melts. Serves 6.

Tips & Warnings
  • Serve with a tossed green salad and crusty garlic bread for a complete meal
  • If you wanted to make this vegetarian you could use the one package of the hamburger crumbles
