Thanks to modern technology you can track down people with whom you have lost touch. Want to find an old boyfriend? Whatever the reason, social networking websites should help you contact an old boyfriend in a way that isn't awkward or threatening.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Accounts with social networking sites
  1. Step 1

Join all the major social networking sites---MySpace, Facebook, Twitter---with your full name. If you are married, include your maiden name.

  2. Step 2

Build your profile pages with pictures of yourself, details about your current job or school, exciting plans and achievements. Make your profile positive. You do not want an old flame to think that you have been sitting around crying over him all these years.

  3. Step 3

Search for mutual friends of yours and your old boyfriend's, and add them as friends or invite them to your page. Do not make contact yet with your old boyfriend.

  4. Step 4

Wait a few weeks after adding some of the mutual friends. Then send a friend request to the old boyfriend saying something like, "Hey, I saw your name on a friend's page. Haven't talked you in ages, what are you up to these days?"

  5. Step 5

Send him a brief note to say hello after he connects with you. After that, wait on him to respond. With any luck, this will be the start of a rekindled friendship or a move that'll help you get over him.

Tips & Warnings
  • Do not use your first contact with the old boyfriend to confess your undying love for him. You will live to regret it.
