Making towers out of popsicle sticks is a fun craft activity for kids, especially for elementary school aged children. Here is a guide to making a tower with popsicle sticks and Elmer's glue simple enough for a wide age range of kids.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Popsicle sticks
  • Elmer's white glue
  1. Step 1

Take two popsicle sticks and lay them down parallel to each other. Then, take two more popsicle sticks, and dab each end on one side with glue. Take those sticks and place them on top of the original two sticks, connecting them at the corners. If done successfully, you have made a square.

  2. Step 2

Now, repeat this process, making sure these next two popsicle sticks face the same direction as the bottom two. Then, glue two popsicle sticks on the top, going in the same direction as the sticks on the second layer. You will now have a square with four layers of popsicle sticks.

  3. Step 3

Repeat Steps 1 and 2, but create a new square. Once done, you will have two squares with four layers each. The two squares represent the floor and ceiling of the first "level" of the tower.

  4. Step 4

Glue criss-crossing popsicle sticks, making an "X," on the outside of each side of the first square, connecting them at the bottom of the "X." Then, glue the second "floor" at the top of the "X." You will have a box.

  5. Step 5

Repeat Steps 1 through 4 and make another box. Then, glue this box on top of the first box. You now have the beginnings of a tower. Repeat these steps until the tower is as high as you want it.
