The one piece golf swing, the part of your swing from your set position to your club's highest position, is also known as the "backswing." Among the most important parts of the golf swing, the one piece swing provides the foundation for your ball striking and needs to be solid and consistent. Slight alterations in your one piece will cause you to lose both power and control.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Establish good rhythm prior to your swing. Make sure your weight is divided on your feet and maintain a balanced, bouncing motion in your knees.

  2. Step 2

Begin your backswing with your arms and not with your hands.Your wrists should remain locked as your shoulders and elbows begin bending.

  3. Step 3

Take the club away slowly from the ball.

  4. Step 4

Draw the club away from the ball in a one-piece motion. Do not pick it up immediately. Lift the club once it has cleared your hips.

  5. Step 5

Turn the left shoulder and the left side of your hips as you begin to lift the club. While turning, transfer your weight to your right side. Keep the hands set as the club head reaches its zenith over your head and your weight transfers totally.
