If you are thinking about buying a new car and are tired of repairing your old vehicle, consider donating your vehicle to NPR. NPR's popular "Car Talk" show works with V-DAC, a vehicle donation company that makes sure your car is properly picked up and handled. The donated car's cash equivalent then becomes a donation for the station of your choice. There is no cost to the donor, and vehicles will be picked up anywhere in the country. NPR accepts cars, trucks, boats, RVs, motorcycles, planes and heavy farm equipment. The vehicles do not need to be operable to be donated.

1
Click on NPR's car donation Web page (see Resources), click on the "Car Talk Donation Program" link and click "Donate Now." You can also call (866) 789-8627 to donate.

2
Select the state where the car is located from the list and click "Next" to continue.
-
3
Select an NPR radio station to which the proceeds from selling your vehicle will go. Click "Donate Now" when the station's "Car Talk" site appears.

-
5
Print out the information and mail the paperwork to the address listed at the end of the online application. You will receive a call from a towing company within a few days to arrange a time to pick up the vehicle. You do not need to be present when the vehicle is towed.
