How to Lace Walking Shoes
Walking shoes can be used for exercise, taking a walk, hiking, running or for the comfort alone. They can be worn in any season and are ideal for winter to protect your feet from the cold weather and help you walk comfortably without slipping on ice or rain water. Lacing them up can take a couple minutes of your time when you first get a new pair of walking shoes, but after you lace them up, you can quickly tie them every time you put them on afterwards.

1
Place the walking shoes on a sturdy surface in front of you. Open up the first walking shoe by spreading apart each side away from the tongue in the middle.
-
2
With one of the laces, insert one end of the lace through the bottom left eyelet of the walking shoe. This eyelet is the one closest to the toe of the shoe. Then, take the other end of the lace and insert it through the bottom right eyelet of the shoe that is even to the left bottom eyelet.

3
Bring the lace that you put through the right eyelet over to the eyelet that's just above the left eyelet. Insert it through this second-from-the-bottom eyelet, and pull through. Pick up the other end of the lace that is going through the eyelet under this one. Bring it to the eyelet that is above the right eyelet that is already laced. Insert it through this second-from-the-bottom eyelet, and pull through. Now the bottom eyelets of the walking shoe should resemble a triangle with the laces.
-
4
Repeat Step 3 the entire way up the shoe until you reach the top two eyelets. The shoe area over the tongue should resemble criss-crossed laces all the way up.
-
5
Tie the two ends of the lace into a bow or knot, or however you prefer to tie your walking shoes.
