A popular upgrade feature or many cars, the keyless remote starter is an essential tool for many Jetta owners. Allowing for easy access to the doors, trunk, and panic alarm, the remote starter is used most notable to pre-start the car from before ever entering the car. These Jetta remotes tend to get scrambled or lose their programming, but any owner can troubleshoot the remote by reprogramming it.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Insert your Jetta key into the ignition of your car. Make sure that all of the car's doors and the trunk are closed.

  2. Step 2

Hold the unlock switch on the door in the unlock position. While holding the switch, turn your key to the on position and then back off, and repeat the on to off process twice more in quick succession. After the third cycle, with the Jetta key in the off position, release the unlock switch on the door.

  3. Step 3

Press and hold for 15 seconds both the lock and unlock button on your Jetta remote starter.

  4. Step 4

Turn the key in your ignition back from the off position to the on position, and wait for a beep from your car to signal that the troubleshooting sequence has ended.

  5. Step 5

Remove the key from the ignition of your Jetta and test your remote starter to see if the programming was successful.
