How To Clean A Glass Tobacco Pipe

1. The first thing you will need to do is find a glass bowl that is large enough to have the pipe be completely submerged in cleaning solution. Take the glass pipe, and gently place it in the center of the bowl.

2. Fill the bowl with 420 Glass Cleaner until it reaches 2 to 3 inches past the complete submersion point of the pipe. Place the gloves on your hands, and turn the pipes on its sides to ensure that its insides are completely filled with cleaning solution. Put the bowl aside in a safe place, and allow it to soak for 3 hours.

3. Once the glass pipe has been submerged for three hours put the rubber gloves back on your hands, and empty the pipe of all the cleaning solution. Then place the pipe onto a piece of folded paper toweling.

4. Bend open the large paper clip in a way that it becomes elongated so that it may be used as a scraping device. The best entry points for cleaning out a glass pipe is through the mouthpiece, and or the carb if it has one. Put the paper clip into the pipe, and use it as a scraping tool to remove any excess material stuck to the insides of the pipe. Remember to clean the paper clip with a piece of toweling paper to remove excess resin from it before you re-enter the pipe for further cleaning.

5. When you have cleaned to the point of satisfaction take the glass pipe, and carefully run it under a water faucet so that all the excess cleaner can be washed away. Dry the glass pipe with a piece of paper toweling, and the job is complete.

Tips & Warnings

• If you have cleaned the pipe all you can with a paper clip, and you are still not satisfied repeat the entire cleaning process from the beginning. Sometimes it takes more than one attempt for glass pipes that have become extremely clogged with resin. If you have an overly clogged glass tobacco pipe it is sometimes best to let the pipe soak in the 420 glass cleaner over night

• Always wear gloves when handling the pipe in cleaning solution. If you happen to accidentally get any glass cleaning solution in your eyes flush them out immediately with cold water.
