How to Remove Advertising From the NetZero Home Page

NetZero is an Internet service provider (ISP) that provides free dial-up Internet service to consumers in the U.S. NetZero supports its services with advertising, which some individuals may find intrusive. You can remove advertising from NetZero pages to streamline your web browsing experience.

Instructions

1. Connect to NetZero and open a new browser window.

2. Download an ad-blocking, browser-based plugin program, such as Adblock Pro for Firefox or IE7Pro Ad Blocker for Internet Explorer (see Resources, below).

3. Double-click the installation file. It will request permission to install a plugin into your browser. Follow the on-screen prompts and restart your computer upon completion.

4. Repeat Step 1. The ad-blocking plugin will be automatically activated in your browser and will block any incoming ad banners.

5. Consider upgrading your NetZero Internet service to one of their paid Internet plans, such as NetZero Platinum. NetZero's higher-end plans do not force advertisements onto customers, and so do not require any ad-blocking software.
