How to Create Mouth Grills

Grills are popular in the hip hop and rap community. They are silver platings that go over the teeth to create a grill effect, not unlike the grill on the front of a car. While most grills are made by jewelers and are very expensive, you can create your own with a few simple things found around your house. Grills you create yourself are great for short-term usage, whether it's for a night at the club or for a costume you are working on.

Things You'll Need

• Tin foil
• Toothpick
• Scissors

Instructions

1. Cut a piece of tin foil that is roughly the length of your teeth, plus 10 percent excess. The width should cover the teeth from canine to canine in your mouth.

2. Place the tin foil in your mouth and mold it to your teeth. You should be able to tell if you need to cut and shorten it. It's a good idea to do this step in front in a mirror so that you can assess how the grill looks.

3. Press the small 10 percent lip of excess under your teeth and onto the back of your teeth. This will hold it in place.

4. Use the toothpick to crease the grill into each of the crevices between your teeth for a more authentic look.

5. Discard after use.
