Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

    Becoming an Online Math Tutor

  1. Step 1

Enroll in college. According to Tutor.com, one of the requirements to be an online math tutor is that you are enrolled in or have graduated from an accredited college or university in the United States or Canada.

  2. Step 2

Complete an online application. The application process entails providing your personal information, as well as giving authorization to Tutor.com to run a background check and education verification. In addition, you must take a math content exam and provide a writing sample. The application process will take from one to three weeks to complete.

  3. Step 3

Prepare for the mock tutoring session and exam. Accomplish this by watching tutor certification videos and other self-paced instructional videos.

  4. Step 4

Pass the mock tutoring session and exam. You must pass a mock tutoring session with a mentor to start tutoring live, and you must also pass a written exam based on the self-paced instructional videos.

  5. Step 5

Become a certified math tutor. Once you have completed your 30- to 60-day probationary period, you are considered a certified math tutor.
