Remove Carbon Dye From Skin After a Laser Treatment

Removing carbon dye from the skin after cosmetic laser treatments is a common concern. Fortunately, there are ingredients available in most homes or that can be easily obtained at most supermarkets and pharmacies that can help. If you are experiencing any tenderness following your laser treatment, it is best to wait until the soreness has subsided before trying this method, although it is usually well tolerated by most individuals. This same technique can also be used to remove hair dye from your skin after at-home hair coloring, as well as remove stains from permanent marking pens and the like.

Instructions

    • 1

Place 2 tbsp. baking soda into a bowl or a container.

    • 2

Stir in ½ tsp. mild dishwashing liquid.

    • 3

Add a small amount (½ tsp. or less) of lemon juice.

    • 4

Pour in just enough hydrogen peroxide to make a foamy paste. Usually this is no more than a capful. If the mixture is thin, add more baking soda. If too thick, add a bit more hydrogen peroxide.

    • 5

Dip a cotton ball into the solution and rub the mixture gently onto the skin using a circular motion. Let the mixture remain on the skin for 1 to 5 minutes. Rinse with plain water. The dye will fade from your skin. Repeat as needed.

Tips & Warnings

  • Avoid using any ingredient that you know your skin is sensitive to. Shield your skin for the next three days after using this treatment, as your skin will temporarily become more photosensitive. Hats can work well for this purpose. Keep this mixture away from your eyes and mucous membranes to avoid irritation.
