How to Install Vinyl Soffit on a House
Wood on the exterior of houses can be a maintenance nightmare. Between repainting every few years and damage caused from rot or insects, wooden soffits require a lot of upkeep. A virtually maintenance-free option is to install vinyl soffit on your house. Does this Spark an idea?

Install the soffit channel on each side of the house. Screw the channel directly under the existing soffit or soffit framing on the house and on the inside of the fascia. The open ends of the channels should face each other.

Measure the distance between the insides of the two channels and subtract 1/4 inch.

Use vinyl shears and cut the soffit to the size determined in Step 2.

Start at one end of the house and insert a piece of vinyl soffit in the channels by placing one end of the soffit in one of the channels. Flex the soffit down in the middle and insert the other end into the track.

Slide the soffit pieces all the way to the end once they are installed. The pieces just butt together.
