The Navy Seals are an elite group of military professionals that are called to duty in the most dire of circumstances. To become a Navy Seal takes hard work. Only 1/3 of those who go for Navy Seals training actually make it to become a Navy Seal. The best way to make it through training is to be prepared for it. A disciplined regimen of training on your own ensures that Navy Seals training doesn't break you. Here's how to prepare for Navy Seals training.

      Run as much and as often as you can. Much of the Navy Seals training is running. Before you report to training, you should be able to run at least five miles without stopping.

      Participate in strength training. You should be able to do at least 100 push-ups, 100 si-ups and 50 chin-ups before reporting to training. Much of Navy Seals training is strength training application, such as climbing walls and ropes.

      Practice swimming. As a Navy Seal, you are required to swim 500 yards in 12 minutes.

      Purchase a rifle for shooting practice, or go to a shooting gallery regularly to work on your shooting.

      Practice a high degree of discipline. This means pushing yourself to the limit in all of your training, never skipping a session and constantly going the extra mile. While training, every bit of preparation helps.
