Vans offers you the option to begin fresh with a white or black shoe, but also provides several inspirational designs for you to use as a jumpstart. Click on the shoe you'd like to customize. If you choose an inspirational design, you have the freedom to change any aspect of it that you'd like. Don't be afraid to start with an inspirational piece even if you think you might turn it into something completely different.

To choose an area of the shoe to customize, click on its name in the list to the right. If you're not sure what a particular part of the shoe is called, click on a title and begin rolling over the color and pattern choices; that part of the shoe will change colors. When you've decided on a color or design for a particular section of the shoe, click on the square with the desired pattern and move on to the next section of the shoe. Take your time and have fun designing your shoe. When you are happy with your design, you can click either "Add to Cart" or "Add to Wish List." Check every aspect of your shoe before you move on.

If added to your "Wish List," your shoe design can be saved and ordered later. If you add the shoe design to your cart, you must provide payment information at the time you order it. Either way, it takes around seven weeks for you to receive your shoe after it's been ordered, so plan accordingly. When your shoes arrive, be sure that they are exactly as you ordered them.
Tips & Warnings
Go to a local store that sells Vans to try on the style and size you want before you order your custom shoes. You cannot return your custom design once it's been ordered, even if the shoes don't fit you.
