Plan B is an emergency contraceptive to be used within 72 hours of unprotected sexual intercourse or contraceptive failure. Plan B does not end pregnancy if you are already pregnant. You can get Plan B from a pharmacy without a prescription if you are 18 or over. If you are under 18, you must obtain a prescription before you can get the pill.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Go to the Plan B Website. Click on the "Where Can I Get Plan B" tab. A link to the Website can be found under the Resources section at the bottom of this page.

  2. Step 2

Type your zip code into the blank to find a pharmacy in your area. Call the pharmacy in advance to make sure they have Plan B.

  3. Step 3

Go to the pharmacy counter and ask for the Plan B pill. You will be asked to show a valid government issued ID to prove you are at least 18 years old.

  4. Step 4

Consider another option if you are shy. If you feel uncomfortable asking for the pill, you can click on the white box titled "Get your Pharmacy Request Card now" above where you typed your zip code in Step 2. You can hand the card to the pharmacist to receive the pill.

  5. Step 5

Go to the doctor first if you are underage. If you are under 17, you must have a prescription from a doctor before you can get the pill.
