It’s the fourth of July and all of your neighbors have incredible firework shows. At long last, you want to have enough fireworks to blow them away. Or, you’re all having a block party and would like to purchase wholesale fireworks. Or perhaps you’re interested in starting your own fireworks retail store?

There’s only one problem – no one actually knows how to buy wholesale fireworks. Depending on your state, it’s not as difficult as you may think.

Read on to find out how to buy wholesale fireworks.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Find out if fireworks are legal in your area. This can be a sticky situation, as firework laws differ from state to state, and even within states they can vary from city to city. The most sure-fire way of determining whether or not it’s legal to buy wholesale fireworks is to call your local fire department and ask them what the regulations are.

Other than that, you can always call the National Council on Fireworks Safety at (301) 907-7998. Don’t get caught buying fireworks if they’re illegal in your area – the punishments are severe, and at the bare minimum you’ll be left paying a hefty fine.

  2. Step 2

Get the necessary permits. If you are buying wholesale fireworks because you want to sell them retail, make sure you get the necessary permits. You can do this by meeting with your local chief fire official, who will review your application and grant you a permit.

  3. Step 3

    3. Hop online. If you’re reading this, you’re already in the right place, as almost all wholesale fireworks sales are made online. There are an amazing amount of wholesale sellers of fireworks out there, and many of them have good reputations within the industry.

Some of the better companies to go with are Spirit of ’76 Wholesale (76wholesale.com), Wholesale Fireworks (wfboom.com), Fireworks Outlet (fireworksoutlet.com), and Big Fireworks (bigfireworks.com). Some of these companies, like Spirit of ’76, have direct contracts with manufacturers of fireworks, while others like Big Fireworks even make their own.

You’d be best doing some research about what kind of fireworks you actually want first before deciding on a brand, but many of these companies offer all sorts of different brands.

  4. Step 4

Attend a demo show. If you’re just getting started with fireworks and have no idea what kind you want, most wholesale dealers offer demo shows. A lot of them are via invite only, and ways to get invited vary. It may be a local dealer that invites local residents, or – more common – they invite people based on previous purchases or you are a retailer with a good reputation.

If you go online you can always send companies emails asking to be invited to their demo show, and they’ll almost always respond favorably. It’s a chance for them to make more sales, so they’d love to have you. It’s also a chance for you to see exactly what products are on offer and talk to the company that is distributing them. It’s a win-win situation for all. Most of the websites mentioned above have demo shows, so check them out today or do a Google search for demo shows in your own area.

  5. Step 5

Whatever you are planning to do with fireworks, buying them wholesale can save you a lot of money. Whether it’s for a big party that you are having, you want to sell retail, or it’s a big occasion such as the fourth of July, buying fireworks in bulk will be more cost effective and can impress your neighbors, friends, and family.
