Step 1
Rent a Vacation Home
Believe it or not, renting a vacation home can be much cheaper than renting out a hotel room. Plus, it’s roomier and a lot nicer. Depending on where you rent, you may be able to take your pets, such as your dog or cat with you. -
Step 2
Discount Coupons
Use the Internet to search for travel coupons. For example, if you’re heading to Disney World, you may want to visit their Website or call their travel agents to find out if they are offering any specials. It’s also good to note that traveling at certain times during the week can also save you money. -
Step 3
Open a Savings Account
Try to put some money away each week into a savings account that is for your family’s summer vacation only. After a while, this will add up, and before you know it you will have saved a few thousand dollars. -
Step 4
Cut Back on Expenses
Resist going to Starbucks or any other overpriced fast food chain. The money you would use to buy a $5 coffee in the morning could go towards your family’s summer vacation. Try to limit your unnecessary spending as much as possible.
