Soap making has been a craft that many enjoy making. There are many different styles and techniques that can be used to make soap -- some that are complicated and some that are not. Here is a fun and quick way you can use for making no-lye soap. So grab hold of the materials needed and let's begin

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Cooking oil spray
  • Wooden spatula
  • Glycerin melt-and-pour base soap
  • Glass measuring cup that is heat resistant
  • Knife that is smooth and sharp
  • Soap mold
  • Scented oils (optional)
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • Deep skillet
  1. Step 1

Start by preparing the mold of your choice and spray it on the inside with the cooking oil spray. Wipe off any extra oil with a piece of paper towel.

  2. Step 2

Take hold of the knife and cut the soap base into 1/2-inch squares. Place them into the glass measuring cup until the cup is a little over half full.

  3. Step 3

Take the skillet and fill it a little more than half with water. Place the measuring cup into the skillet.

  4. Step 4

Heat over medium heat until the water starts to boil. Reduce the heat to low. Take the wooden spatula and stir the melting squares.

  5. Step 5

Once all the squares have melted, remove the cup from the skillet and let it cool down. You will see a light covering start forming at the top of the melted soap. Remove this film with the spoon and dispose of it.

  6. Step 6

Add a few drops of the food coloring to the melted soap. You can add as much or as little as you desire. Stir in the color with the spoon until it all blends evenly.

  7. Step 7

Add a few drops of the oils you have chosen. The more drops you add, the stronger the fragrance. Mix the oils with the soap, using the spoon.

  8. Step 8

Take the melted soap and pour it into the molds. Allow it to cool down. Once the soap is solidified, turn over the mold and carefully pop out the soap.

  9. Step 9

Your no-lye soap is finished and ready to be used. Enjoy!
