How to Tie Hawaiian Dresses

Hawaiian dresses tie over one shoulder in a knot, with a sash around the waist that ties in the back for added support. They are usually made of a soft flowing material such as light cotton or silk, and are colorful with bright patterns such as water waves, vines and flowers.

Instructions

1. Slip the dress over your head onto your body.

2. Place one of the diagonal shoulder straps over the opposite shoulder. Reach over that shoulder to find the other shoulder strap that connects from the back of the dress. Bring both straps up onto your shoulder.

3. Tie the straps in a large loose knot that is comfortable and not too tight.

4. Reach around your back and tie the two straps that fall near your waist loosely at your lower back.

Tips & Warnings

• The Hawaiian dress should be comfortable and not too tight. The dress is supposed to resemble a loose, comfortable sundress.
