How to Convert MPEG to TS
MPEG is the standard video file format, and almost any media player will run this type of file. A TS file is a DVD video format. This format holds audio, video and DVD data information. When you open a DVD in the drive on your computer, it will have two files: Video-TS and Audio-TS. Converting MPEG to TS will allow you to burn videos onto DVDs.

Use an MPEG to TS conversion program. Several applications are available for under $30, including OJOsoft Total Video Converter and Ultra MPEG Converter (see Resources).

Open the conversion program. Press the "Start" menu button and select "All Programs."

Change the application options. With OJOsoft, click the "More" button in the quick launch bar. Select the "To TS" preference. In the Ultra application, adjust the "Output" option to "DVD-Video Files."

Add the MPEG file to the program. In OJOsoft, click the "Browse" button, locate the video and press "Open." With Ultra, click the "Add Files" button, search the drive for the MPEG video and select "Open."

Press the "Convert" button. This is the same for both applications. Let the conversion complete, which should take about 15 minutes.
