Retrieve Deleted Information From QuickBooks

Financial and accounting software has revolutionized bookkeeping for families and small businesses. But that paperless convenience has a price. If you accidentally delete a transaction in QuickBooks, there's no magic "undo" button to make things right. Fortunately, you can locate the deleted transaction and reenter it by hand.

Instructions

    • 1

Run this report to find the deleted transaction: Reports>Accountant & Taxes>Voided/Deleted Transactions Summary.

    • 2

Change the date at the top to match the date you deleted the transaction.

    • 3

If running the Deleted Transactions Summary doesn't provide all the information you need, run a detailed report: Reports>Accountant & Taxes>Voided/Deleted Transactions Detail.

    • 4

Use the information in the Voided/Deleted Transactions reports to reenter the deleted transaction, including the amount of the transaction, the target or destination account and the transaction date.
