    Things You'll Need

    • Drafting pencil
    • Kneaded eraser
    • Art markers
    • Colored pencils
    • Computer
    • Scanner

Draw the seat for the design of the seat covers by creating a rectangle for the back of the seat. Add a smaller rectangle to the top of the rectangle. Add the bottom of the car seat with a diagonal square shape coming out of the base of the seat back.

Color the base color of the seat using a dark colored art marker. For the example in this article you are using dark blue, but a darker color will do. Let the marker dry for at least five minutes or until it is dry to the touch.

Add the basic framework of the design using colored pencils. Draw flames on the back of the seat by adding three curved, wavy triangular shapes using a bright red colored pencil. Place these in the middle section of the back seat. Add wavy triangular shapes to the left and right side of the main group. Add four small wavy triangles to the head rest to create smaller flames.

Add yellow inside the flame guidelines that you have just created. You can then add a layer of orange between the yellow and red. Add shadows to the design to make the seat more realistic and to give you a better idea of what the finished product will look like. Do this by coloring lightly with a black colored pencil on the bottom sides of the back of the seat and to the left and right of the side flames on the car seat.

They can work with you to implement a customized seat cover based on your design.

    Tips & Warnings

    • Be sure to let the ink from the marker dry before using colored pencil on top of it or the design will tear.
