How to Teach Infants Spanish

Starting to teach young children and infants Spanish helps them get a good grasp on the language ahead of their peers. If exposed consistently, infants can have a good grasp of the language, which will stick with them throughout their lives, but to do this, you have to be dedicated. It also helps if you have some knowledge of Spanish yourself.

Instructions

1. Speak Spanish around your child if you're fluent. Often stop to explain the English translation as well.

2. Play Spanish music and radio around your child.

3. Expose your child to Spanish children's television as well as English television. Plazo Sesamo is the Spanish-version of Sesame Street and offers similar Muppet characters and programming for young children.

4. Learn some Spanish lullabies and sing them to your child as he sleeps. Sing an English version at night, too, if you can.

5. If you do not speak the language yourself, consider bringing on a bilingual nanny to make sure your child is immersed in the Spanish language as frequently as possible.
