Things You'll Need:
- slim sticks
- clay
- candy or plastic eggs
-
Step 1
Gather slender sticks to use for the nests. Cut these into short pieces with garden clippers.
-
Step 2
Choose a clay that's similar in color to the sticks. Shape it into a shallow bowl shape. This is the base for the decorative bird's nest. It needs to be thick enough for the sticks to be poked into it.
-
Step 3
Stick the clipped sticks into the clay in a somewhat random fashion. Keep in mind the way a bird inserts the straws and sticks it finds to form a nest. It takes quite a few sticks to cover the clay properly.
-
Step 4
Once the nest looks like you want, add some eggs to the middle to complete the bird's nest. Stock up at Easter time on candy eggs that give the realistic look of a bird's egg. Sometimes you can find plastic bird's eggs, but they aren't easy to find.
