Step 1
Libraries can be very interestingVisit your tourism center. Look at your area attractions as if you were a tourist. Find places to explore or visit on your fun summer vacation at home, that you never knew existed. Make a list of some of the unusual museums or libraries to view or hiking trails that you never knew existed.

Step 2
Movies show early shows for a dollarLook at the weekend newspapers for exhibits coming to local Art Museums. There are traveling exhibits that travel from one museum to another. Spend a few hours at a flea market. Have a cheap lunch at a local restaurant or enjoy a quick bite at the flea market lunch area. If it rains then watch a movie at your nearby movie theater on your summer vacation at home.
-
Step 3
Find out if there are any free out door concerts that might be enjoyable to you and the family. Make a plan and write it down ahead of time so you will know exactly what you will do and what day you will do it during your fun summer vacation at home.

Step 4
wine tasting is fun and costs nothingAttend a wine tasting afternoon at some of your local liquor stores. Check to see if there is an English tea room in your area that might even be a only a short drive away. Tea Rooms serve tea, sandwiches and other delicacies and have rooms full of interesting things to see, touch and buy.If the tea is too expensive, then just browse the tea room and check out all their interesting collections. Just enjoy having a fun summer vacation at home.

Step 5
Walk the beach or swim in the oceanWalk the Mall if you have one nearby. Take a drive and pay a visit with friends you might not have not seen in years. Call ahead, or make plans while you are figuring out how to spend your fun summer vacation at home. Go to the beach and go fishing, swimming or sun bathing. Walk the boardwalk or ride your bike. Snack on hot dogs, hamburgers and french fries and play a few games in the amusement area or game rooms.
