Budget Money with your Family
Budget Money with your Family

Most families have financial concerns. Some have too little money some have enough for some things and not enough for others. Here are a few tips to help.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Be honest- If you do not have much money to contribute to the budget. Tell you partner. Do not let it be a surprise later. Also if you have some bills the other may not know about. Tell them. Nothing is worse when you are trying to budget money then to have something come up you didn't know about.

  2. Step 2

Set Goals- Talk to everyone in the family. Decide on a common goal that satisfies everyone. Not something that is unachievable but something realistic. A trip camping at the end of the season or a new Television. A trip to the amusement park. Every week try to set a little aside for the common goal.

  3. Step 3

Be Thrifty- When you are going to make a purchase , try to shop around a little before buying it. The prices may be lower next week if you can wait until then to buy it. Or maybe a mile or two down the road you can get it cheaper.

Tips & Warnings
  • Remember- If you are honest and work together most families can survive the economic downturn and still have fun.
