Quickly Relieve a Sore Throat

Sore throats can be pretty annoying. Especially when they just don't go away. It's caused by a viral or bacterial infection in the throat, most commonly the cold or the flu. Fortunately, there are a few ways to quickly relieve a sore throat.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Salt
  • Water or Orange Juice
  • Cayenne Pepper
  1. Step 1

First of all, try mixing some salt with warm water and gargle that. This is a simple way to relieve some of the pain of a sore throat. Try this two or three times, if you don't have enough relief, go to step two.

  2. Step 2

Secondly, mix 1/8th a cup a cayenne into about a cup of warm water. If it's too spicy for you to gargle, try mixing 1/8th a cup of cayenne into orange juice instead. Breathe deeply before gargling. Repeat every 15 minutes until the sore throat is gone. This should work fairly quickly, if not, don't give up on it, for a severe sore throat that has been around for several days, it may take up to a day.

  3. Step 3

If the sore throat still hasn't gone away, it may be time to go to a doctor. Generally a sore throat will be caused by a common cold or flu, but occasionally it can be the symptom of something more serious.

Tips & Warnings
  • Try not to gargle too much Cayenne Pepper at once.
  • If the Cayenne Pepper cure doesn't completely cure your throat at first, don't give up on it. It will work eventually.
