Google Calendar is a free web based calendar offered by Google that helps you organize and manage your events and activities. The easy interface allows you to add recurring and non-recurring events. You can view your events in a many ways such as monthly, weekly or daily.

After suggestions from Google Calendar users, Google recently added a Task List function to the calendar in order to integrate your To Do list with your calendar. There are websites that offer web based To Do lists such as Remember the Milk, but they were not made to easily integrate into Google Calendar. In this article, you will learn how to add and use a task list with your calendar.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Google Account
  1. Step 1

    ***Sign Up for Google Account***

While you don't need a Google email address in order to have a Google Calendar, you still need to set up a Google Account. This is easy to do from the Google.com web page.

  2. Step 2

    ***Set Up Google Calendar***

After you've set up your account, open your free Google Calendar. You can now start adding events, set your privacy settings, or share your calendar with others.

  3. Step 3

    ***Add Task List***

Adding a task list is easy. On the left hand side under the Google logo, you'll see Create Events, Quick Add, and Tasks. Click on Tasks and on the right hand side of the calendar the Default List will pop up (you can rename this list if you want). From here you can begin adding tasks.

  4. Step 4

    ***Adding Tasks***

When you click once on the task list box, a yellow bar will be highlighted and you can type in whatever your task maybe. For example, you can type in "Go Grocery Shopping", hit return, and now this task has been added.

  5. Step 5

    ***Adding Due Dates on Tasks***

Next, click the arrow that appears next to the task. You can now add a due date and other notes for this task. When you add due dates, these tasks will be added to your calendar with a check box next to it. When you've completed the task just click the box.

If you need to change the due date, you can either click on the arrow again and change the date or click on the task in your calendar and drag it into the new date.

  6. Step 6

    ***Keeping Track of Tasks***

You can sort your tasks on the task list by due date, view complete tasks, or clear out competed tasks.

Also, you can create multiple lists for you tasks such as a Homework Task List, Errands Task List, etc.

Tips & Warnings
  • Adding tasks to your calendar will help you keep organized.
  • You can also quickly add tasks by clicking the date on the calendar and then clicking Tasks.
  • You can share your task list by creating shared calendars with other users if they have Google accounts.
  • Be sure to check your privacy settings if you don't want others to access your calendar.
