Children's dance recitals can be hectic. Forgetting pieces of a costume are sometimes the biggest mistakes.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Mascara
  • A brush or comb
  • Glitter spray for hair
  • Body spray (with glitter)
  • Lip gloss
  • A bouquet of flowers
  1. Step 1

Make your child's hair appointment the week before the recital. Also it's best to make the appointment as close to the recital time as possible. To avoid the child's hair being messed up beforehand.

  2. Step 2

At home, make a check list of every costume piece. Have one bag to keep all of the pieces in. Also, have your child's initials or name on every tag. Including all shoes. Ballet, tap, tenny shoes etc.

  3. Step 3

Get your child ready at home. That way you won't be rushing and forget a feather in her hair or her earrings. Other items of the costume, such as an extra tutu or skirt and shoes should be kept in the bag and carried to the recital.

  4. Step 4

Once there, have your child sit with her class. Make sure she has her bag and her teacher sees that she and her bag are there. Be sure to tell her she's beautiful and to smile! Hand her the bouquet immediately after the show. This is dance recital tradition.

Tips & Warnings
  • If it is raining on the day your child has her hair appointment, take a shower cap to put over the hair for when you leave.
  • These events tend to be crowded so it's best to stay with your child as long is allowed. Generally you will be asked to be seated in the auditorium shortly before show time.
  • Try to be near the exit door when your child comes out from behind stage. The sooner she sees you the less confused she will be with the crowds.
