Become a Big Brother or Big Sister

Recentlt there was a story in the news about a "Big Brother" who sent his "Little" through college, somewhere along the way they became family.

Being a "Big Brother" or "Big Sister" is said to be one of the most rewarding and enjoyable things you can do. It's simple, you and your "Little" can share the kinds of activities you already like.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Bigs and Littles have fun together and create memories. The organization calls it "Little moments ... Big magic." Research shows the lasting impact Bigs have on children's lives.

    Littles are:
52% less likely to skip school
46% less likely to begin using illegal drugs
More likely to get along with their families and peers

  2. Step 2

The easy way to get started is to complete an online application.

  3. Step 3

After you complete a short form online, a Big Brothers Big Sisters staff member will contact you.

  4. Step 4

You will be asked to provide references. You will participate in an in-person interview. Then you will go through a criminal history record check.

  5. Step 5

You can also call 888.412.BIGS to be routed to your local agency.
