How to Make an Old Mattress Feel New
Sleeping on an old mattress that sags rather than supports can make you have a rotten night's sleep and cause you to wake up with sore muscles. If your old mattress has lost its support and you feel like you're sleeping in a hammock instead of a bed, don't buy a new mattress just yet. Extend the life of your old mattress with a simple, old-fashioned and inexpensive fix. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Measure the length and width of the box spring mattress of the bed and mark the plywood to match the dimensions of the bed.
-
2
Trim the plywood to size with a circular saw. The board should be just large enough to cover the entire box spring mattress. It should not be so long that it sticks out when the mattress is put on top.
-
-
3
Slide the plywood between the box spring and the mattress. This will dramatically increase the amount of support your bed provides, and it will no longer sag in the middle.
