Things You'll Need:
- 1 18.25 oz dark fudge cake mix
- 1/3 cup water
- 2 tbsp shortening
- 3 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 3 tbsp hot water
-
Step 1
Preheat your oven to 325 degrees F.
-
Step 2
In a large mixing bowl, combine the dark fudge cake mix, 1/3 cup water and 2 tbsp shortening. (Do not subsitute the shortening, it won't turn out right.) Knead the mixture until it is dough-like and pliable.
-
Step 3
Cover your surface with parchment paper, and use to form balls 3/4 inches, then press flat. This will form the cookie part of the Oreo, so shape as you wish.
-
Step 4
Place the Oreo cookies 1/2 inch apart on a greased cookie sheet and bake 4-6 minutes. (Or until cookies are crunchy.)Set the cookies aside to cool.
-
Step 5
OREO COOKIE FILLING
In a mixing bowl combine 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar, 1/2 tbsp granulated sugar, 1/2 tsp vanilla extract, 1/2 cup shortening (again, do not substitute) and 3 tbsp hot water. Mix well. -
Step 6
Form the filling into 1/2" round balls. (Or 3/4" for the Double Stuffed). Put the filling in between two Oreos and squish gently until the filling reaches the edges of the Oreo.
