How to Flush the Radiator on a Chrysler LHS
Your Chrysler LHS radiator is crucial to the operation of your vehicle's cooling system. If it becomes corroded or clogged with rust or build-up inside, it can create problems for the rest of the engine. The LHS radiator is fitted with an electronic fan that is designed to activate when the water temperature gets too hot, but if the radiator is clogged, the fan will not be any use to the system. You can flush out the radiator in just a few minutes and prevent any damage from being done to your engine.
Things You'll Need
- 1 qt. of radiator flush
- Drain pan
- Wrench
- Garden hose

1
Locate the radiator on your Chrysler LHS. You will find it just behind the front grill in the engine compartment, with the radiator cap sitting next to the battery. Take the cap off of the radiator and pour a bottle of radiator flush into the radiator and put the cap back on. Start the engine and allow it to idle for about 15 minutes. Turn the engine off and let it cool down.

2
Undo the caps on the radiator and the coolant overflow tank and then place a drain pan underneath the radiator drain plug located at the bottom of the radiator. Open the drain plug with an open-end wrench and allow the coolant to drain out completely. Remove the drain pan and place an empty container underneath the drain plug.

Place the end of a garden hose into the top of the radiator and turn the water on to run clean water through the engine. Observe the fluid that is draining out of the drain plug into the empty container and shut the water off when you see clear liquid coming out of the radiator. Take the container out from under the vehicle and close the drain plug.

4
Fill the coolant overflow tank half-full of coolant, put the cap back on the tank and fill the radiator with coolant until it is full. Place the cap back on the radiator and remove all tools from the engine compartment.

5
Dispose of the drained coolant and water flush by taking it to your local recycling center or automotive supply center.
