Glue and residue from labels can be difficult to remove from wooden items, such as picture frames and furniture, without scraping or scratching the finish. Specialty cleaning products, such as Goo Gone, are commercially available for this purpose. However, patience and warm vinegar are effective as well.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Cleaning cloths
  • Vinegar, warmed
  • Sponge
  • Water
  1. Step 1

Dampen a cloth with warm vinegar and gently rub the affected area. The glue will dissolve and transfer to the cloth.

  2. Step 2

Dry the area and wipe with a damp sponge (dampened with water only).
    Dry and repeat as necessary.

  3. Step 3

Clean and condition your wood surface if needed to restore its luster and shine.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use white vinegar to avoid staining. Check whether vinegar and water react with the finish by applying a few drops to an unobtrusive area.
