How to Make a Bow String Stronger
The bow string is one of the most essential parts of any bow. Your string will be under a great amount of pressure from the weight of pulling the bow back and firing arrows, and it will eventually start to break down from the wear and tear. The best way to prevent your bow string from snapping or wearing out is to make the string thicker and replace any broken string fibers.
Instructions

-
1
Remove the bow string from the bow. Carefully slide one of the string loops out of the notches cut into the bow, and then slip the string off the bow itself.
-
2
Untie the loops at both ends of the bow string. You will need to have the string completely straightened so that you can remove fibers or braid new fibers into the string itself.
-
-
3
Examine the string for any broken string fibers. Unbraid these fibers counter clockwise in order to remove them from the rest of the string.
-
4
Replace the broken fibers by using new fibers and braiding them into the bow string in a clockwise fashion.
-
5
Take a group of six string fibers and braid them into a bundle. Take this bundle and braid it into the newly restored bow string. This should add some strength to your string and make it a bit thicker and able to withstand more pressure from the pull back of your bow.

Tips & Warnings
Adding strength and thickness to your bow string may reduce the speed and distance your arrows travel.
