How to Take Celebrex

Celebrex is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to treat conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, menstrual pain, ankylosing spondylitis and other forms of pain. While the drug is very effective at fighting the above conditions and many more it can also be dangerous if it is not taken properly or if it is taken under the wrong conditions.

      Contact your physician to discuss taking Celebrex. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, nursing or if you may become pregnant. Also tell them if you are on any other medications, including non-prescription and natural medications. Also tell your doctor if you have any allergies or diseases. Essentially provide a full medical background to your doctor.

      Learn the side effects that the drug may produce. Some of the side effects include dizziness or drowsiness, serious stomach ulcer and bleeding and severe stomach and backpains. The most common side effects include indigestion, along with stomach upset and diarrhea.

      Take only the amount of Celebrex as directed by your doctor. If you miss a dosage contact your physician to find out what you should do. Each patient will have their own personal medical histories and only their own doctor should tell them what to do when they miss a dose.

      Take Celebrex with plenty of water. Celebrex comes in a capsule form as shown in the picture to the left of this step. You should not open the capsule and ingest without consulting with your doctor. Simply swallow the pills as prescribed while washing the pills down with water or another liquid. Do not take your Celebrex with Alcoholic beverages. Celebrex can also be taken on an empty stomach without problems arising.

      Stop using Celebrex immediately if you experience any side effects as described by your physician. Immediately go to your physician if the side effects are sever or visit your local hospitals emergency room.

  • Consult your doctor before taking Celebrex. Also consult a physician immediately if you experience any side effects that may be brought on by Celebrex. Taking a larger dosage of Celebrex than prescribed by your doctor can be fatal, always follow your physicians directions as prescribed. Celebrex users should also avoid alcoholic beverages, especially on a regular basis.
