How to Work With Animation Shop 3

Animation software is used to turn static GIF images or hand-drawn images into computer animated images. Cartoonists often use animation software in conjunction with traditional methods of illustration to create cartoons, and Web designers often use the software to create animated films for websites. Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Download Animation Shop 3 (see resources). You don't have to buy it first. There is a free 30 day trial available. Install and open Animation Shop.

  2. Step 2

    Access the "File" menu and choose "New" to create frames for a new animation. Animation Shop presents you with a strip of frames that you will use to build your animations.

  3. Step 3

    Use the "File" menu and choose "Open" to add images to the frames one at a time. You can also use the drawing tools to create your images by hand within Animation Shop 3. Load your illustrations into the frames in the order they should be animated.

  4. Step 4

    Use the "Effects" menu if you want to add special effects and transitional effects between your images. You can choose from a variety of transitions or even insert text effects.

  5. Step 5

    Preview your animation as you go using the "View Animation" button. You can add or delete frames anywhere you want in the sequence until you have the animation you want, then you can save your animation in hundreds of formats.
