Instructions

    • 1

Remove the coffee pot and fill it with white vinegar. Allow the pot to soak for about 30 minutes. Pour out the vinegar after soaking.

    • 2

Remove the reusable filter basket (if your machine uses one) and wash it in soapy water. Rinse it thoroughly.

    • 3

Replace the reusable coffee filter into the machine. Fill the coffee pot completely with fresh vinegar and pour it into the water reservoir on the machine.

    • 4

Turn the coffee machine on, and run the vinegar through the regular brewing cycle, with the coffee pot under the filter.

    • 5

After the cycle completes, pour out the vinegar, and rinse the pot and the filter basket with water.

    • 6

Refill the machine with vinegar and let it run through the cycle again.

    • 7

Run water through the cycle to rinse the vinegar out of your coffee machine. You might have to do this step more than once to get rid of the vinegar odor. When you no longer smell vinegar in the coffee pot after running water through the brewing cycle, your coffee machine is ready for making coffee.

Tips & Warnings

  • Thoroughly rinse the coffee machine after cleaning it to prevent the first pot of coffee from tasting like vinegar.
