Things You'll Need:
- Newspapers
- One-dimensional cardboard or foam turkey decoy
- Aerosol polyurethane foam
- Drill
- Screws
- 1 2-foot-by-4-foot board, 1 foot long
- 2 2-foot-by-4-foot boards, 3 feet long
-
Step 1
Cover a flat working surface with several layers of old newspapers, and lay the one-dimensional cardboard or foam decoy on it. Cover one entire side of the decoy with a thin coating of the spray foam to begin to create bulk. Let the foam dry thoroughly for at least 24 hours.
-
Step 2
Flip the decoy over and coat the other side with a thin layer of spray foam. Allow it to dry for at least 24 hours. Keep your foam layers thin. Trying to rush this project by spraying on thick layers will ruin it.
-
Step 3
Spray another layer of foam onto the decoy and let it dry. Flip it over, spray more foam onto the other side and let it dry. Keep repeating this process until your target has become as bulky as you desire.
-
Step 4
Build a simple stand for your 3-D archery target by laying the two 3-foot boards parallel to each other. Set the 1-foot board on top of them, forming an "H." Use the drill and some screws to secure the boards into place.
-
Step 5
Use the drill and screws to secure your 3-D decoy into a standing position on the center of the "H." This 3-D archery target will be stable and stand up straight when shot with arrows.
