How to Fight a VASCAR Speeding Ticket in Pennsylvania
VASCAR is a development in traffic laws and regulations implemented in the early 2000s. Visual Average Speed Computer and Recorder tickets are given in Pennsylvania and around the United States to speeders on highways. These tickets are determined by posts with cameras and speed recorders who film the license plates of cars that are recorded as going over the speed limit. Issued by mail, VASCAR tickets in Pennsylvania can be fought much like tickets issued by human officers.

1
Check "Not Guilty" on the back of the VASCAR speeding ticket that is sent to you in the mail, and clearly and concisely list the reasons why you believe that you are not guilty.
-
2
Mail your ticket back to the Pennsylvania city where the ticket was issued in the pre-stamped envelope that is provided with your ticket.
-
-
3
Compile a list of the reasons why you believe you are not guilty. Two of the most common defenses ("that isn't my license plate or car" and "I wasn't doing that speed") can be defended with proof.
-
4
Gather proof of evidence where you were when the ticket was incorrectly issued. Witnesses from jobs, receipts from stores or restaurants, or a number of other reliable pieces can be used to prove you were not driving your car at that point.
-
5
Appear for your court date, ready with your evidence, and present your case to the courtroom for the judge to make a ruling.
