Clothing design can be a profitable business. If you have ideas for your own line of clothing, the first thing you need to do is create illustrations of those designs. Most clothing designers do this by creating hand sketches of models and then sketching their clothing designs onto the models. This is okay if you have a marginal talent for drawing, but what if you don't? Thanks to the vast resources of the Internet, now you can design your custom clothing online, free and with no artistic experience necessary.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

Go to StyleZone and download the StyleZone editor. It is a small download that allows you to interface with the website to create and save your fashion designs. The download is free, but you will be asked to sign up for an account after installation.

  2. Step 2

Open the StyleZone web interface. If your firewall asks whether to permit the connection to the Internet, allow the connection. This is online fashion design and requires a connection to the Internet.

  3. Step 3

Customize the default model StyleZone provides you with. You can choose a man or a woman, change hair color and body size and even change facial expressions and features. This will allow you to try your designs on several different models. Use the "Makeover" button to accomplish this.

  4. Step 4

Choose the base clothing pattern you will work with by clicking on the "Design" button and then begin experimenting with various fabrics and cuts, applying them to your model and previewing as you go. The "Design" feature incorporates several design effects to help you shape your clothing designs until you achieve the look you're after. You can design single pieces or entire outfits.

  5. Step 5

Take a picture of your design and make notes about it, then save the design to the StyleZone server for safekeeping. You can use this website to create as many designs as you want. The possibilities are nearly endless.
