How to Make a Rear Computer Speaker Stand

Technology has evolved to allow people to enjoy full range of sound using their computers, but the messy clutter of wires and speakers can overwhelm a small office desk. By placing your computer speakers on rear stands, you can still hear the full range of sound from computer speakers . You can easily make your own.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

  1. Measuring the space

    • 1

Measure the space where you will locate the rear computer stands. You will use these measurements when you cut the particle board for the computer speaker shelves.

    • 2

Cut the particle board and 2x4's to fit the space where you will be placing the speaker stands.

    • 3

Using the deck screws, attach the metal braces to the top left, top right, bottom right, and bottom left of the 2x4's on both speaker stands. Be sure the screws are securely tightened.

    • 4

Once you attach the metal braces to the legs of the computer stand, attach the particle board surfaces. Use the screwdriver to attach the screws on the bottom and top of both computer speaker stands. Be sure the screws are securely tightened so that they can accommodate the weight of the speakers

One of the biggest concerns with computer speaker stands is the clutter of wires. One option is to bundle the wires and use wire ties, or even a garbage bag tie, to keep them from getting tangled. Another option is to use two additional deck screws, one on the top and one on the bottom, of one of the legs of the rear computer stands. Wind the wires around the two deck screws so that they don't tangle. The deck screw option is the more flexible because it makes it easier to move the speaker stands.

Place your speakers on the stands and make the necessary power and audio connections to the rear or front of your PC.
