Instructions

    • 1

Draw a large rectangular shape that is has curved upper right and left corners. Attach a trapezoid to the top of the sports car to create the front window. This shape should be smaller at the top and wider at the base. Draw a long, thin rectangle at the bottom of the front of the car for the sports car's grill. Add two rectangles under the left and right corners of the front of the car to create the wheels.

    • 2

Add the side-view mirrors to the design of the sports car with two small rectangles coming off the bottom left and right corners of the front window. Add the headlights with two small rectangles on the left and right side of the front of the car. Make this shape come to an angle on the inside edge. Draw a "T" cross shape inside the grill of the car. Add a circle to the left and right side of the grill.

Draw the windshield wipers on your sports car design with two long, thin rectangles at the bottom of the front window. Add the logo to the front of the car with a curved rectangle just above an upside-down triangle. You can create your own name for the car and place it on the curved rectangle and create a logo inside the triangle.

    • 4

Ink over all of your pencil lines to make them permanent. Wait 5 minutes and carefully erase the pencil lines. Steady the page while you erase by putting your left hand in an "L" shape in the corner of the picture. This will prevent the design from folding or crumpling while you erase.

    • 5

Color the entire sports car design with Prismacolor art markers. These are the same type of markers that professional designers use for automobile concept illustrations. Color the body of the sports car light green Add dark green around the middle side of the hood of the car and to the cross shape on the grill. Add more dark green to the side-view mirrors. Color the sections around the "T" of the grill black. Do this for the tires as well as the windshield wipers. Color the front window gray and use yellow for the headlights. Color the curved rectangle for the logo.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can make a photocopy of the car in Step 4 and try different paint designs.

  • Let the ink dry completely before erasing the pencil or the design will smudge.
