When the weather begins to warm up, individuals and families begin to prepare some of their meals outside on barbecue grills. They often have a 4th of July party featuring grilled hot dogs and hamburgers. If you like the taste of grilled food, you might want to consider buying a gas grill. There are a few things you should think about so that you will choose the right gas grill for you.

From Quick Guide: Gas Grills Guide
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Take note of how many people you will need to feed each time you grill. Smaller grills cost less money, but are perfect for a family of four. If you have a small family, but grill for the neighborhood every time you cook, you will need a larger gas grill.

  2. Step 2

Check to make sure the gas grill is on wheels. It is very difficult to store your grill and take it out each time you want to cook on it if it isn't on wheels.

  3. Step 3

Look for cast iron grill bars. These are much more durable then some of the other types so you will get your money's worth out of them.

  4. Step 4

Look for a gas grill that is made out of stainless steal. It is easy to clean and will last a long time. It might cost a little extra, but you will find that it is worth every penny. To test whether a gas grill is truly made of stainless steel, bring a magnet. The magnet should not stick to the grill.

  5. Step 5

Look for a gas grill that has a drip tray. This will make life so much easier when it is time to clean up.

  6. Step 6

Measure your outdoor grill space. You don't want to purchase a gas grill that doesn't fit in the space you have available. Take your measurements with you to the store so you can measure the grill.

Tips & Warnings
  • Choose a gas grill with two side burners if you are interested in cooking side dishes at the same time you cook your meat, chicken or fish. If you buy a large grill, make sure that it has storage compartments for your grilling accessories.
  • Gas leaks can be dangerous, so make sure that you have completely shut the gas off before you put the grill away for the night.
