How to Make Easy Earrings
Make easy custom earrings for pierced ears in a few minutes with a few supplies. No special skills are needed. Choose a variety of small beads and lightweight accents, such as plastic leaves or seashells, that can be assembled and sewn onto an earwire finding with needle and thread. These make perfect gifts or unusual jewelry to wear with a casual outfit.

1
Lay the pieces of earring wire findings, beads and accents on a worktable. Arrange the beads and accents in the design in which they will be attached to the earring and in the order in which they will be attached. Make two identical bead and accent designs.
-
2
Cut a 12-inch piece of thread with scissors, and thread one end through the eye of a thin jewelry needle. Pull the two thread ends together. Begin slipping beads and accents onto the needle according to the design you created in Step 2. Pull each one through and along the thread. Stop within 3 inches of the end of the thread.

3
Slip the needle through the loop on one earring wire finding. Pull the thread through loosely. Slip the needle again through the beads and accents and again through the loop on the earring wire finding.
-
4
Hold the two ends of the thread and pull outward, tightening the beads and accents through the earring loop. If necessary, push them together. Tie a secure knot with the two ends of thread. Cut off the excess thread carefully.
-
5
Proceed with the second earring wire finding to attach the beads and accents (Steps 2 through 4).

Tips & Warnings
Make several pairs of easy earrings in this project to give as gifts or to wear with other outfits. This is a good project for young girls to make with adult supervision. An option to thread and needle is thin jewelry wire with a jewelry wire cutter and a crimper (for more experienced jewelry makers).
